Creating opportunities for people to make things and learn new skills in a friendly, accessible space is at the heart of Saltash Studios’ mission. 

Our Creative Workshops programme ranges from taster activities for complete beginners to longer courses for people wanting to develop their skills.

Creative writing workshop

Meet our creative workshop leaders:

Plymouth-based artist Mark Fielding has a gallery at Royal William Yard and is an Academician of the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Art. He studied with the great Robert Lenkiewicz and  is fascinated by people and inspired by colours and patterns of landscapes, the sea and urban architecture.  https://www.markfieldingart.com/

 

Lyndsey Harvey of Crafting with Lyndsey has twelve years’ experience of delivering craft workshops, retreats and parties across the South West. She is a qualified adult teacher and passionate about crafting. She brings daytime fibre crafts and seasonal home decor workshops to the Studios.

 

Natalia Charogianni is a Saltash based artist who runs multi-media workshops, bringing together printing, embossing, painting, drawing, paper crafts and more to create beautiful, original artworks. Known for her eclectic and tactile creative style, she has built a diverse portfolio and her experimental craft workshops are always popular. www.instagram.com/nataliatizan/

 

Stephanie Hurrell of Thrive with Craft runs regular macrame workshops at the Studios. She began learning macramé while helping raise funds for medical aid for Ukraine working alongside displaced Ukrainian families who had settled in my hometown. Sustainability is at the heart of her work, using rescued or recycled materials wherever possible, giving them a second life and ensuring that her practice does no harm to people or the planet. 

 

Kathy Fox runs Saltash Craft Group and brings different workshops to the Studios every month from her huge craft stash in our vault. From sea-glass pictures to  lampshades, rag-rugs to printing. Kathy’s workshops are friendly, fun and accessible.

 

Anne-Marie Furse of Furse Art runs one-day painting workshops inspired by local flowers and landscapes. Anne-Marie is a founding member of Maze Art as well as a member of Drawn to the Valley. She sells her work through Heather Jane and Co Craft Cooperative in Tavistock and has exhibited in Wales, Devon and Cornwall. She was awarded first prize in the 2025 Annual Art Side competition.

 

Pamela Austin-Roberts is a local florist and willow weaver. She leads workshops creating original willow pieces for the home and garden and traditional seasonal floristry. Pam is also a regular at our Makers Markets where are willow dragonflies are hugely popular.

 

Calling workshop leaders:

 We welcome proposals from workshop leaders – whether you want to bring existing classes to Saltash, or are new to running workshops and need a supportive environment and advice to get started.

We have two rooms available to hire for workshops from £10ph weekdays and £15ph weekends and we support workshop leaders with marketing, ticketing and professional advice.

The location

You’ll find Saltash Studios on Saltash Fore Street, surrounded by the amenities of the vibrant town centre – with excellent transport links by road and rail.

From Saltash Studios’ location on Fore Street, you have a wide range of shops and services right on the doorstep. There’s a supermarket, plenty of places to get lunch (including Cornish pasties, naturally!), a Post Office, a banking hub and pharmacies – plus many more businesses.

The town centre is well-connected, with easy access to Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall via the A38 and regular bus services. Saltash train station is also just a 10-minute walk away and offers direct routes to London, Plymouth, Exeter, plus west into Truro, Newquay and Penzance.
